Starting Jan. 10, you can take a guided tour of the waterways along the Jupiter Inlet and climb to the top of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse – all for one price! Visitors start the Climb & Paddle tour on the property at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. The highlight is the breathtaking view from the top of the red brick lighthouse overlooking the Loxahatchee River, Atlantic Ocean and Indian River. Hit the water at Canoe Rentals. You’ll have a great time paddling the wild and scenic Loxahatchee River. Amidst the quiet surrender of the old cypress and historic swamps, hear the haunting song of a story not often told. Masked in history and covered with time, the voices of the Black Seminole Indian Tribe calls out to you. Their remarkable story in large part was hidden beneath the earth until 1989. Now, you have the opportunity to paddle the waters, walk the land and listen to the battle rage as you experience the past Seminole Wars at Riverbend Park. The Black Seminoles came seeking freedom from slavery in the 1700s. Florida, under the control of Spain, gave the Black Seminoles refuge. By agreeing to fight with the Spanish military, they were assured citizenship. Our last two interns. As students continue their search for an internship throughout the semester we are looking to continue our history of taking in student interns. With our busy season coming up this winter and spring, along with a packed summer schedule full of camps, tours, and lessons, the Jupiter Outdoor Center are looking for qualified internship candidates pursuing a degree in Recreation, Early Childhood Education, Education and/or Marketing for the Spring 2018 or Summer 2018 session. While working at both our locations student interns will get an opportunity to apply previous knowledge and learn new skills in their pursuit of becoming a future professional in the field of recreation and leisure services, and/or marketing for small business.  Throughout the internship, candidates will acquire skills needed in both outdoor recreation activities along with managerial practices that can be applied to any business.  The relationship…

With Labor Day Weekend around the corner, many may be looking for some fun activities to celebrate their hard work!!
