THINGS TO DO IN JUPITER

Get Out There Early!

Early mornings –  when the air is cool and the water is smooth — are the best time to head out for a paddle on the Wild & Scenic Loxahatchee River or Jupiter Inlet waterways.

Make an online reservation with JUPITER OUTDOOR CENTER and we will meet you at Sawfish Bay or other nearby location with a stand-up paddle board or kayak for this Things To Do in Jupiter event. Paddle past the bright red historical Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. Or head into the sanctuary of Fullerton Island, a birders paradise.

The clear inlet waterways make spotting manatees, sea turtles and fish easy. And don’t forget to check out the juvenile fish nurseries near Cato’s Bridge.

Rather take a bicycle ride? The wide crushed-shell paths in shady Riverbend Park are a fantastic way to start the day. Deer, otters, birds and more like to get out in the early mornings.

There’s lots of shaded gazebos to stop, rest and have your lunch. Maps make getting around easy. And JOC rents all kinds of bicycles – kids, tandems, wide tires.

Kayaks are available too for adventures on the Loxahatchee River.

Who Says There Are No Autumn Colors in South Florida?

Fall is the time when the feathery foliage from bald cypress trees that line the Loxahatchee River change to a copper color before they drop off.

The leaves return in the spring in a burst of lush green.

Not only to the towering trees — some are 50 feet tall — pretty to paddle past, but they provide a relaxing early-morning shade during this Things To Do in Jupiter activity.

JOC guides will point out the prettiest spots on a JOC guided tour.

Heroes On The Water

3rd Annual Heroes On The Water 5K Trail Run/Walk is planned for Oct. 9 at Riverbend Park.

Sign up here.

Participants have the option of registering for an in-person timed 5K, or a Virtual 5K. All participants will be receiving a performance race shirt, finisher medal, swag bag, post-race food & more.

Proceeds from this Things To Do I Jupiter race will benefit the Treasure Coast Heroes On The Water Chapter. This race is hosted by the Southern Timing Foundation, Inc., a  registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Heroes on the Water is a Things To Do in Jupiter event that creates alternative therapeutic programs to serve veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders and their families. These experiential programs incorporate structured activities proven to improve the lives of these men and women. Each experience reduces the impact of post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury while providing much-needed camaraderie and support.

Stroll or bicycle Jupiter’s Riverwalk and Lighthouse Promenade

Early morning strollers or bicycle riders are likely to see manatee, stingrays, a variety of fish and birds, including ospreys, and an occasional American Bald Eagle.

The Riverwalk provides access to the Jupiter Yacht Club Marina development where you can enjoy views of the marina and Intracoastal while sipping a cup of coffee, dining outdoors, or shopping at the small retail shops located at the marina. The pedestrian-friendly Lighthouse Promenade is located near Charlie & Joe’s at Love Street, Jupiter’s latest waterfront restaurant attraction.

The Plaza Down Under on the Riverwalk is located under the Indiantown Road Bridge at Coastal Way. Art/craft fairs, holiday celebrations, music/dance and food festivals are regular Things To Do in Jupiter events held by the town.

And check out Harbourside Place, located north of the Indiantown Road Bridge,
