Rick Clegg, owner of Jupiter Outdoor Center JOC offers over a decade of Experience of Adventuring in Costa Rica:
“Being in the biz of connecting people with nature for the last 25 years in Florida I had heard of the legendary and professional service provided by The Pacuare Outdoor Center and its Founder Tom Ranieri. Our transfer from airport to rivers edge was fun and flawless .Our multilingual Tico driver fastinated us with stories about his culture and the ecology of his native land while we drove past coffee plantations, volcano and small towns Mild mixed with wild is how I would describe the rest of our adventure. Plenty of time to chill at the ” jungle lodge”overlooking the Pacuare River before canopy zip-line, jungle swing , trekking and rafting through the gorgous canyons. The river had just enough calm water to catch ones breath and offer views of the numerours waterfalls after plunging thorough a heart pounding class 3-4 rapid. Our professional guides coached us on paddling ,skillfully navigated each rapid they know by name and encouraged us with frequent paddle high 5’s. When I say Pura Vida back home in Florida I think of POC and #POClife.”

In the afternoon you will visit a nearby coffee plantation which is one of Costa Rica’s oldest plantations with history and fame for some of the finest coffee in the world. Here you will learn the process of what is known as the golden bean in Costa Rica and finish your tour tasting different types of coffee making you an expert by the end of our visit.

Day 3, Jan 11th — Raft Pacuare River to POC Lodge & Optional Massage (POC Lodge):
Today we will be heading to the infamous Pacuare River but instead, of taking a tourism bus we will make our way to the put-in on MTBs. This is a great ride with awe-inspiring views and a chance to get to see some of rural Costa Rica’s most picturesque landscapes.
Our guides will have lunch waiting for us on the river bank and then some time to relax. Once the food has settled, we will drive for 20 minutes to the world-renowned Pacuare River, where we will then raft 2 hours to arrive at the Pacuare Outdoor Center Lodge, located in one of the most remote sections of the Pacuare River.
Once we arrive, we will take a 10-minute hike over two hanging bridges to the lodge, where you will be ready to relax with the view and the sounds of the jungle after a full day of adventure.
We will have masseuses onsite for one-hour massages.

We’ll also be zipping on our zipline from tree top to tree top, so we are going to experience the Pacuare River from another level.
Then we are going to hike to a beautiful waterfall where we are going to have the chance to slide in and have some fun! This is about a one-hour hike and will have its vertical challenges hiking down into the canyon. During the night we are going to get relaxed around a bonfire. (Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

This is what we consider the most scenic area of Costa Rica and thousands of former guests share the same opinion.
Once we arrive to the take out you will have a chance to rinse off and put on some dry clothes. Then we are going to start our drive back to San Jose for your final night just minutes away from the airport.
