THINGS TO DO IN JUPITER: 5 Ways to Start the New Year Right
Patronizing local businesses — dive shops, restaurants, entertainment, bike shops — is a great way to help your community and your Jupiter friends.
When you spend money in Jupiter, you’re often buying Jupiter products. That promotes what’s uniquely Jupiter. And local businesses create local jobs.
Want numbers to back that up?
Experts say for every $100 spent at a locally-owned business, $73 remains in the local economy.
Compare that to the same $100 spent at a non-locally owned business. Only $43 remains in the local economy.
Here’s some local spots to try out:
Crux Coffee Roasters in Abacoa – Espresso and pourover coffee bar serving a variety of freshly roasted coffee from around the world.
Jupiter Dive Center – The best scuba diving Palm Beach County has to offer; warm water, pristine reefs and exciting wrecks.
J-Town Bike – Check out the large selection of high quality bikes, clothing, and accessories to Palm Beach County. Repair services also.

GET HEALTHY – YOGA AT RIVERBEND PARK
Join certified yoga instructor Shellie Chiet as she takes you on a spiritual journey of the mind, body, and spirit with a slow flow beginner’s session.
Elements of nature are infused with the beautiful surroundings of Riverbend Park, at Jupiter Outdoor Center’s large/south launch. Be sure to bring a yoga mat, blanket, and water. Water is also available for purchase on location.
Reservations are being accepted for the hourlong Sunday sessions starting at 10 a.m.
BE A TOURIST IN YOUR OWN TOWN
Blowing Rocks Preserve is one of those places locals drive by and never visit.
But we’re missing a great adventure. And admission is temporarily free due to the pandemic.
The 73-acre preserve on Jupiter Island is named for its rocky Anastasia limestone shoreline—the largest on the Atlantic coast. During extreme high tides and after winter storms, seas break against the rocks. The waves force plumes of saltwater up to 50 feet skyward.
It’s an impressive sight!
Hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
LOCAL LUXURY – SAFE SEATING AT THE MOVIES
At Cinepolis in Jupiter, every other seat is marked unavailable. But you and your friends can sit together if you want.
Guests get a luxury movie-going experience with fully reclining leather seats and in-theater waiter service and dining with full bar, available at the touch of a button.
Check out Covid precautions being taken at Cinepolis.
Two fun-for-all courses, each with 18 holes.
Paradise Falls serves up excitement for the whole family, complete with wheelchair and stroller accessibility. This winding course has several water features and hills, promising a variety of fun at every hole.
Lost Lagoon covers undulating terrain, caves and more, plus the tropical aquarium featuring sharks as well as a variety of other large and small fish.
Don’t forget to order your favorite beverage while golfing. Lighthouse Cove delivers drinks (including beer and wine) to your exact location on the links.
Tryout their second mini golf location in Abacoa.
GREET THE NEW YEAR WITH A PADDLE ON THE LOXAHATCHEE RIVER
Canoes, bicycles and kayaks are available on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and every other day at Jupiter Outdoor Center.
Get the kids away from the computer screen and outdoors pedaling one of JOC’s tandem/single/children’s bicycles through the shaded, wide-open paths at Riverbend Park.
Keep your eyes peeled for deer, birds, otters and more.
Or paddle a kayak under the shade of towering cypress trees along the Wild and Scenic Loxahatchee River.
